The Apostolic Bible Polyglot & 1709 Lambert Bos CD-ROM

Above: This is the Apostolic Bible Polyglot & 1709 Lambert Bos LXX CD-ROM.

THE CD-ROM CONTAINS TWO BIBLES: The Apostolic Bible Polyglot is one Bible and the 1709 Lambert Bos LXX is the other. The Apostolic Bible Polyglot contains three major parts...the interlinear Greek Old and New Testament text, the Lexical Concordance of The Apostolic Bible, and the English-Greek Index of The Apostolic Bible...all of which are in the printed edition. These three major works are coded to the AB-Strong numbering system which features a number above every Greek word, except proper names, in the Old and New Testament text. These words can then be cross-referenced with the lexical concordance, English-Greek index and the upcoming analytical lexicon.

Above: This is a page from the 1709 Lambert Bos LXX.

THE 1709 LAMBERT BOS VETUS TESTAMENTUM: The Bos Greek Old Testament was a reprint of the earlier Sixtine edition of 1587 which was based on the Vatican Codex B. The editor, Lambert Bos, was Professor of Greek at the University of Franeker in Holland. The Bos Bible is a scanned edition in PDF image format, that is, each page was scanned into an image that can be reduced or enlarged but not altered or searched. What distinguishes the Bos Bible is the extensive footnote apparatus that lists about every know variant of the Greek Old Testament (LXX). Sources for many of these variants are the 1518 Aldine Bible, the 1517 Complutensian Polyglot, Codec Alexandrinus and many other ancient sources. Many footnotes in The Apostolic Bible refer to the Bos edition, saying, "See Bos for variants." It must be noted that the chapter and verse numbering of the Bos Vetus Testamentum differs in many places with that of The Apostolic Bible. The Apostolic Bible follows the chapter order of the 1517 Complutensian Polyglot which coincides with the current accepted chapter and verse numbering of the English Bible. The books of the Bos Bible are complimentary to the books of The Apostolic Bible...the Deutero-canonicals are not currently offered.
